It’s been a long time since I updated Deviant Art. I spent a year selling all of my possessions and preparing for a year abroad. The plan was to commit to my long distance girlfriend and travel as much as possible in between, but that didn’t work out. I’m now just travelling, exploring the world on my own. Homeless, unemployed, single, and free to do as I like. I’ve not had time or energy to focus on anything majorly constructive. Uprooting your life completely isn’t easy, but I don’t regret it. Wow! I won "Tharg's Choice" for my first ever entry to the monthly 2000ad art competition! Amazing! I was happy purely to have my artwork appear on the official 2000ad Tumblr, and the last thing I expected was to actually win anything, especially considering the quality of the competition! There are a lot of hugely talented people on the 2000ad forum, who are much better artists than me. Humbled and amazed. It's a great feeling to get that kind of recognition from a comic book I've been reading since I was small, but honestly I'm just happy to participate in a monthly activity with such talented people working in a wide range of styles. I watch a lot of Netflix. I also have an iPad Pro. Often when I watch Netflix I see a character shot and think "that would be interesting to draw!". Then I continue watching. Yesterday I grabbed my iPad and started drawing while watching Fringe. Could this count as life drawing? It's not quite the same. It's observational drawing. Hopefully I learn something. It's taking the opportunity to be productive with the little down time I have, and still have fun. All while not leaving the couch. I use "Sketches 2" in the iPad Pro currently. It's simple and has a nice range of tools which behave very well, and the images are a nice resolution. Cru
